-“Aspen
Grove” is NOT a unique place name in Utah. There’s the famous spot off Provo
Canyon and then there’s another Aspen Grove along the west edge of Duchesene
County, found along the North Fork of the Duchesne River.
-“Impossible
Peak” sits northeast of Boulder Town at an elevation of 7,520 feet.
-“Muskrat
Springs” was the original name for the town of Hooper, Weber County. However,
there is still a “Muskrat Spring,” located in Tooele County, northwest of Grantsville.
-“Point of
the Mountain,” between Salt Lake and Utah counties is actually part of the
“Traverse Mountains.
-“Poverty
Point” is in Tooele County, north of I-80 and Delle, along a Union Pacific rail
spur line.
-There is a
“Professor Valley” that sits east of Arches National Park and just west of
U-128.
-“Rhoades
Canyon” is about 10 miles southeast of Soapstone, from the Mirror Lake Highway
(U-150).
-The “Wah
Wah” Mountains and Wah Wah” Valley are located west of Milford.
-Tooele is
an odd sounding name for the county west of Salt Lake. However, there is a
“Tule Valley,” located west of the House Mountains and north of U.S. Highway 6.
And, there is a “Confusion Range,” found west of Tule Valley.
